Surrendering can help in identifying our new direction. Allowing it to unfold while being willing to accept things grander than we have ever imagined, and that were seemingly not our idea, can help as well. This is because we are stepping into the next phase of our soul shoes, and this next phase is amazing, grand, and allows us to become so much more of our original soul blue print and intention. This next phase is what we really came here for. It is absolutely finally time. It is the fun and juicy part. So then, being willing to become our true and authentic selves, with our true and authentic purpose, while letting go of a smaller and more diluted version of who we thought we were, can place us there more readily.

If you feel you have already surrendered, and are still confused, you may not have really let go all the way. Letting go means really giving up everything that you thought you wanted. It means giving up energetically…completely. Not hoping someone will buy your failing business, or holding on while you are waiting for something to change or save you. That is still holding on. It means being willing to disconnect from everything, before you start anew. No wishing, wanting, hoping for certain pieces to arrive to save you or that will allow you to leave, or the like. And I am referring to letting go energetically here…not suggesting that one physically walk away, unless that is a comfortable decision.

One can discern the beginnings of a shift in architecture that relates to a deep transformation going on in the sciences and in time will permeate all other areas of life. The new sciences of complexity - fractals, nonlinear dynamics, the new cosmology, self-organizing systems - have brought about the change in perspective. We have moved from a mechanistic view of the universe to one that is self-organizing at all levels, from the atom to the galaxy.
Illuminated by the computer, this new worldview is paralleled by changes now occurring in architecture.

The plurality of styles is a keynote. This reflects an underlying concern for the increasing pluralism of global cities. Growing out of post-modern complexity of the sixties and seventies - Jane Jacobs and Robert Venturi - is the complexity theory of the 1980s:
Pluralism leads to conflict, the inclusion of opposite tastes and composite goals, a melting and boiling pot. Modernist purity and reduction could not handle this reality very well.

The Death of God, like the death of other major narratives over the last hundred years, may be confined to the west, especially visible now that the globe is experiencing the ultimate clash of civilizations. But fundamentalisms, either American or Other, are not living cultural movements however powerful they may be. They have produced no art, architecture or writing worth preserving, and the deeper problems remain. In spite of these problems, the question of whether the new paradigm exists in architecture is worth asking. What we’re seeing may be a false start; the old paradigm of Modernism can easily reassert its hegemony, as it is lurking behind every Blair and Bush. But a wind is stirring architecture; at least it is the beginning of a shift in theory and practice.

MAMMATUS OVER MANHATTAN:

Last Saturday, June 26th, after a summer evening thunderstorm, a bank of spectacular mammatus clouds formed over Manhattan," reports Snehal Patel of New York. "It was an amazing display that looked like large orange cotton balls falling from the sky."
He took this picture using an iPhone 3G:

Mammatus clouds, named for their resemblance to a cow's underbelly, sometimes appear at the end of severe thunderstorms when the thundercloud is breaking up. Researchers have called them an "intriguing enigma," because no one knows exactly how and why they form. The clouds are fairly common but often go unnoticed because potential observers have been chased indoors by the rain. If you are one of them, dash outside when the downpour stops; you could witness a beautiful mystery in the sky.

My brother Abe [Zelmanowitz, 55] worked in the north tower of the World Trade Centre, on the 27th floor. He could have got out, but his colleague, Ed, a quadriplegic, was trapped with him. My other brother and sister-in-law called him, begging him to leave, but he said he would wait for help to get Ed out. But help came too late. Then Bush made his speech at the National Cathedral [September 14 2001]. He mentioned my brother's heroic act, and it became immediately apparent to me that my country was going to use my brother's death to justify attacks in Afghanistan. That was as horrendous a blow to me as the actual attacks on September 11. I hoped and prayed that this country would not unleash forces in my brother's name. When it [the bombing of Afghanistan] happened, I was horrified and devastated.

Genetically modified food - WIKI

GM foods were first put on the market in the early 1990s.
Typically, genetically modified foods are transgenic plant products:
soybean, corn, canola, and cotton seed oil, but animal products have been developed.

For example, in 2006 a pig engineered to produce omega-3 fatty acids through the expression of a roundworm gene was controversially produced. Researchers have also developed a genetically-modified breed of pigs that are able to absorb plant phosphorus more efficiently, and as a consequence the phosphorus content of their manure is reduced by as much as 60%.

Critics have objected to GM foods on several grounds, including perceived safety issues, ecological concerns, and economic concerns raised by the fact that these organisms are subject to intellectual property law.

Although most GM crops are grown in North America, in recent years there has been rapid growth in the area sown in developing countries. For instance in 2005 the largest increase in crop area planted to GM crops (soybeans) was in Brazil (94,000 km2 in 2005 versus 50,000 km2 in 2004.)
There has also been rapid and continuing expansion of GM cotton varieties in India since 2002. (Cotton is a major source of vegetable cooking oil and animal feed.) It is predicted that in 2008/9 32,000 km2 of GM cotton will be harvested in India (up more than 100 percent from the previous season).
Indian national average cotton yields of GM cotton were seven times lower in 2002, because the parental cotton plant used in the genetic engineered variant was not well suited to the climate of India and failed. The publicity given to transgenic trait Bt insect resistance has encouraged the adoption of better performing hybrid cotton varieties, and the Bt trait has substantially reduced losses to insect predation.

Though controversial and often disputed, economic and environmental benefits of GM cotton in India to the individual farmer have been documented.

Some scientists argue that there is more than enough food in the world and that the hunger crisis is caused by problems in food distribution and politics, not production, so people should not be offered food that may carry any degree of risk.

This argument assumes that genetically modified foods present risks not present in traditional foodstuffs, which are demonstrably not free of risk.

Some people claim that modern crop pictures are just abstract landscape art, drawn in English fields by human fakers with rope and boards, and that such patterns have no deeper meaning.

Such a view is profoundly wrong, because serious researchers can now understand clearly what most crop pictures mean.

Two pictures from the summer of 2008 showed for example pi to ten digits as 3.141592654, or our nine-planet solar system as it will appear on December 23, 2012 when the Mayan Long Count calendar ends.

Detailed forensic inspection of the fields suggests that neither picture (nor many others) could have been locally human-made. Quite surprisingly, instead of alien symbols, those authentic crop pictures often show long-forgotten symbols from our distant past on Earth:
whether from Egypt, the ancient British Isles or central America.

Glaciers and Glacial Warming, Receding Glaciers

The first photographs made for World View of Global Warming, ten years ago, were of glaciers in Antarctica and Peru. This page shows a selection of the locations where we have documented glacier and ice cap retreat -- a small set of images illustrating the overwhelming evidence from hundreds of glaciers and ice caps on every continent that global warming is severely affecting the water and glacial cycles of the planet. This is a profound change that unlike natural cycles like the Little Ice Age of the 16th and 17th centuries is proceeding very rapidly and appears tied to no natural cycles. The best correlation for this change to all but a handful of the 160,000 land glaciers and parts of the great ice caps is to rising atmospheric temperatures tied to increasing amounts of greenhouse gases.

The largest implication of this loss of glaciers is not the change in scenery, but the fact that the seasonal meltwater from glaciers, especially in Asia and South America, is the life support for billions of people. Large cities like Lima get much of their water from glaciers. In other parts of the world, glacier water keeps streams cool and full for salmon and other important wildlife. And as more and more water reaches the ocean, it is increasing sea level at a faster rate --- which threatens every coastal city and shoreline. New scientific projections show at least a three foot (one meter) rise in ocean levels by the end of this century, part of which is also due to the expansion of warming sea water. This will inundate rice fields and estuaries that feed billions, and push into the heart of the worlds largest cities --- and make each storm a threat of more devastating waves and surges.

The Pasterze, Austria's longest glacier, was about 2 kilometers longer in the 19th C. but is now completely out of sight from this overlook on the Grossglockner High Road. The Margaritzen-Strausee, a dammed artificial lake, now is in the place where the glacier terminus was in 1875. Measurements of the Pasterze began in 1889 and it has been pulling back the entire time, in approximate step with regional temperatures that have been increasing. The glacier is now about eight Km long and loses about 15 meters per year. However in 2003 the Pasterze decreased 30 meters in length and 6.5 meters in thickness.

The fact that TV is a source not actively or critically attended to was made dramatically evident in the late 1960s by an experiment that rocked the world of political and product advertising and forever changed the ways in which the television medium would be used. The results of the experiment still reverberate through the industry long after its somewhat primitive methods have been perfected.

In November 1969, a researcher named Herbert Krugman, who later became manager of public-opinion research at General Electric headquarters in Connecticut, decided to try to discover what goes on physiologically in the brain of a person watching TV. He elicited the co-operation of a twenty-two-year-old secretary and taped a single electrode to the back of her head. The wire from this electrode connected to a Grass Model 7 Polygraph, which in turn interfaced with a Honeywell 7600 computer and a CAT 400B computer.

Flicking on the TV, Krugman began monitoring the brain-waves of the subject What he found through repeated trials was that within about thirty seconds, the brain-waves switched from predominantly beta waves, indicating alert and conscious attention, to predominantly alpha waves, indicating an unfocused, receptive lack of attention: the state of aimless fantasy and daydreaming below the threshold of consciousness. When Krugman's subject turned to reading through a magazine, beta waves reappeared, indicating that conscious and alert attentiveness had replaced the daydreaming state.

What surprised Krugman, who had set out to test some McLuhanesque hypotheses about the nature of TV-viewing, was how rapidly the alpha-state emerged. Further research revealed that the brain's left hemisphere, which processes information logically and analytically, tunes out while the person is watching TV. This tuning-out allows the right hemisphere of the brain, which processes information emotionally and noncritically, to function unimpeded. 'It appears,' wrote Krugman in a report of his findings, 'that the mode of response to television is more or less constant and very different from the response to print. That is, the basic electrical response of the brain is clearly to the medium and not to content difference....
[Television is] a communication medium that effortlessly transmits huge quantities of information not thought about at the time of exposure.'

Was he really that old? Could he have forgotten his own birthday or exaggerated his claim?

Li maintained that inward calm and peace of mind were the secrets to incredible longevity. His diet after all, was mainly based on rice and wine.

Unsurprisingly, not much is known about Li Ching-Yun's early life. We know he was born in the province of Szechwan in China, where he also died. We also know that by his tenth birthday, Ching-Yun was literate and had travelled to Kansu, Shansi, Tibet, Annam, Siam and Manchuria gathering herbs. After that, it gets a bit fuzzy...

Apparently, for over one hundred years, Li continued selling his own herbs and then subsequently sold herbs collected by others. He also (according to Time) had six-inch long fingernails on his right hand.

You might be thinking that he looked decrepit, shrivelled, leather-like and creepy, however sources at the time were astonished at his youthfulness. Was this suspect? Was Li Ching-Yun as old as he claimed he was, or was his birthday a clerical error or exaggeration?

There is something wrong with US mission to the Moon. The legendary space mission is still shrouded in mystery. Mankind still has a number of reasons to cast doubt on the miracle of inter-planetary flights. Many people still say that US astronauts have never landed on the Moon.

Japan's Kaguya lunar orbiter took several pictures of the site, where Apollo 15 and Apollo 17 supposedly landed in 1971 and 1972. If the astronauts had ever landed there, they should have left a lot of equipment on the site, including the rovers, on which they traveled on the surface of the Earth's satellite. The pictures, which the Japanese rover took, showed not even the slightest hint of the US presence on the Moon.

There was only a spot of dust seen on the photograph of the site, from which Apollo-15 blasted off on its journey back to Earth. The spot, NASA said, was a firm evidence of Apollo’s presence on the Moon.

It is an open secret that the Moon's entire surface is all covered with a thick layer of dust. US astronauts took many pictures of their shoeprints on the Moons' surface. Joseph Skipper, a researcher of lunar and Martian anomalies, has many questions about the evidence, which the lunar dust provides. A number of images, made by the US astronauts showed their lunar rover standing at a distance from the landing module. There can be no wheel tracks seen on the pictures – as if the rover had flown from the lander to the site where it was photographed.

One may assume that the lunar ground was too hard for the wheel tracks to appear in it. However, there are many shoeprints in the dust around the rover. They can be seen even underneath the rover, although there are no wheel tracks on the ground at all.

Many people say that the US astronauts have never landed on the moon and that the entire mission is a fake. Others say that the missions took place, although the astronauts did not land on the Moon every time they traveled there. They could probably exaggerate their success to baffle the USA's major rival in the space race - the USSR.

It is not ruled out, though, that the discovered anomalies can be explained. They can be probably connected with certain peculiarities of the lunar dust and its interaction with electrostatic charges. However, serious scientists prefer not to throw too much light on the subject. S o u r c e

Through some obvious and some not-so-obvious symbols, the video tells the story of a troubled man who seeks protection with an evil entity.
Once again, like it was the case for other songs that were analyzed on this site (ie Rihanna's 'Umbrella'), the visuals tell a disturbing story that can only be understood if analyzed at the second or third degree. Most viewers will stare at the images of the video, not understanding their meaning yet feeling something inside. The unconscious mind registers the messages of the video without allowing the viewers to interpret them. They cannot decide if they are acceptable or not thus their psyche gets automatically affected. By knowing the hidden meaning of the video, your mind is free from whatever effects hidden message could have on you. Your consciousness is aware of the whole story thus you can accept or reject the messages displayed on your screen.

I've gotten messages from people saying: 'I'm now afraid to turn on the TV or the radio because of the satanic messages in the songs you're analyzing'. The purpose of those articles aren't make you scared, quite to the contrary. The goal is encourage you to have an analytic spirit when tackling works like this so you can interpret and judge them instead of being hypnotized by them. 'What about the kids? How can they analyze them', might you ask.
Well, there lies the tragedy.

How I helped build the bomb that blew up Wall Street

I have been called the devil by strangers and 'the Facilitator' by friends. It's not uncommon for people, when I tell them what I used to do, to ask if I feel guilty. I do, somewhat, and it nags at me. When I put it out of mind, it inevitably resurfaces, like a shipwreck at low tide. It's been eight years since I compiled a program, but the last one lived on, becoming the industry standard that seeded itself into every investment bank in the world.

I wrote the software that turned mortgages into bonds.

Because of the news, you probably know more about this than you ever wanted to. The packaging of heterogeneous home mortgages into uniform securities that can be accurately priced and exchanged has been singled out by many critics as one of the root causes of the mess we're in. I don't completely disagree. But in my view, and of course I'm inescapably biased, there’s nothing inherently flawed about securitization. Done correctly and conservatively, it increases the efficiency with which banks can loan money and tailor risks to the needs of investors. Once upon a time, this seemed like a very good idea, and it might well again, provided banks don't resume writing mortgages to people who can't afford them. Here's one thing that's definitely true: The software proved to be more sophisticated than the people who used it, and that has caused the whole world a lot of problems.

The Denver International Airport

So this is what welcomes you when you enter the gates of hell…sorry, I meant the gates of the airport. A 32 foot high fiberglass stallion with veins popping out of its whole body and demonic eyes that glow red. Nice. I heard the children love it. Interesting fact: the horse killed his creator, Luis Jimenez, while he was working on it. A portion of the sculpture came loose and smashed him, causing fatal injuries. His friends now say that the horse is cursed.

What does it represent?
The 1st thing that came to mind when I saw this horrendous piece (for an aiport anyways) is: the Pale horse of the Apocalypse. It is the fourth horse in the book of Revelation in the Bible and is approprietely called 'Death'.

"And I looked, and behold a pale horse;
and his name that sat on him was
Death, and Hell followed with him.
And power was given unto them over the
fourth part of the earth, to kill with
sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth".
-Revelation 6:7-8

In other words, the horse 'Death' brought killing with weapons, with hunger, and with disease. That's pretty extreme a family airport, right? Doesn't seem like that horse should be there. You will soon realize that it fits perfectly with the rest of the DIA.
